Why Support Locally Grown?

Enhance your local economy: By purchasing goods from our local growers, food producers and artisans, you are supporting Michigan agriculture, local businesses and the regional economy.

Get great-tasting, healthy food: Produce is at the peak of flavor and nutrition when it’s harvested at optimal ripeness and freshly packed for the Market.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.

Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

What if I forget to pick up my order?

We are sorry you couldn’t make it to pick up your order!

Orders that are not picked up by 45 minutes before the pick-up window ends, will receive a phone call by Market Staff at the number listed on your account. Please make sure the phone number listed on the account is accessible during the pick-up window on Thursdays.

Since the growers harvested the produce and the food producers and artisans custom made your orders, you are still responsible for paying for the order, even if you do not pick it up. There are no refunds. All orders that are not picked up will be sent back with the vendors or donated.
